Tyre Replacement
Safe, legal tyres fitted and balanced at a fixed price.
Your tyres are the only part of the car touching the road, so their condition affects braking, steering and grip in the wet. The legal minimum tread depth for cars in the UK is 1.6mm across the central three-quarters of the tyre, all the way round, but grip drops well before that. Our mechanics fit and balance new tyres, repair punctures where it is safe to do so, and check the wheel alignment.

Frequently asked questions
What is the legal tyre tread depth in the UK?
For cars, the minimum is 1.6mm across the central three-quarters of the tread, all the way around the tyre. Driving on illegal tyres can mean a fine and penalty points for each tyre.
Can every puncture be repaired?
No. A puncture can only be repaired if it is in the central part of the tread and the damage is small. Damage near the sidewall, or a tyre driven on while flat, means the tyre must be replaced.
Do I need wheel alignment with new tyres?
It is a good idea if the old tyres wore unevenly or the car pulls to one side, because poor alignment will wear the new tyres quickly too.
Should I replace tyres in pairs?
It is best to fit tyres in pairs on the same axle so both sides grip evenly. Newer tyres usually go on the rear for stability.
When do I pay?
Payment arrangements are shown during booking. Your card is only charged once the work has been completed.
