Air Conditioning Regas

Air Conditioning Regas

Cold air back in your car, with the right gas for your system.

Car air conditioning slowly loses refrigerant over time, even when nothing is broken, so it gradually cools less well. A regas removes the old refrigerant, checks the system holds pressure, and refills it with the correct amount of the right gas and oil. If the system has a leak or a faulty part, our mechanics find it first, so you are not paying for gas that will escape again.

How pricing works

The cost depends on which refrigerant your car uses and whether any repair is needed. Newer cars use R1234yf gas, which costs more than the older R134a. Enter your registration number for a fixed-price quote.

Frequently asked questions

How often should I regas my car air con?

Many manufacturers suggest a check every two years or so, because systems lose a little refrigerant each year. If the air is no longer cold, a regas is usually the first step.

Which gas does my car use?

Most cars made before about 2017 use R134a, while newer cars use R1234yf. Your mechanic checks the label under the bonnet and uses the right gas for your system.

Why has my air con stopped working completely?

A complete failure often means a leak has let all the gas out, or a part such as the compressor has failed. The system is checked for leaks before it is refilled.

Does using the air con help in winter?

Yes. Air conditioning dries the air, so it clears misted windows quickly. Running it regularly also keeps the seals lubricated.

When do I pay?

Payment arrangements are shown during booking. Your card is only charged once the work has been completed.
