Can somebody else hand over the keys?

Yes. Someone else can hand over and receive the keys on your behalf, as long as they are aged 18 or over and you have arranged this in advance — for example a partner, family member, neighbour or colleague.

Please let us know who will be present so the driver knows what to expect, and make sure they can grant safe access to the vehicle. You remain responsible for ensuring the person you nominate is authorised to release the vehicle.
