Types of car lights
Headlights

How to check your car lights
- Park safely and switch on each light setting.
- Walk around the vehicle or ask another person to check the lights.
- Check that both sides have similar brightness and colour.
- Inspect lenses for cracks, clouding, dirt or moisture.
- Check the dashboard for warning messages.
Do not touch halogen bulb glass with bare fingers, as contamination can shorten bulb life. Follow the vehicle manufacturer’s fitting instructions.
Signs your lights need attention
- A bulb is not working.
- A light flickers or becomes noticeably dim.
- One headlight points higher or lower than the other.
- The lens is yellow, cloudy, cracked or damaged.
